The Minotti name has become an international brand synonymous with luxurious Italian style for a discerning international market in interior design. Established in 1948 by Alberto Minotti as a small craft workshop, the company is now well established universally for its luxurious one of a kind destination for Italian interior design products. Between the 1970s and 1980s, Alberto’s sons; Renato and Roberto Minotti took the brand forward to an international platform. The Minotti brothers shared the company’s vision, creative direction and stylistic principles with architect Rodolfo Dordoni who has been coordinating the collections to date. The Minotti brand will celebrate a landmark 70-year anniversary next year at the helm of the fifth generation of the family business, who continue to strive to interpret the evolution and changes in modern lifestyles that are translated throughout their collections.
With stores all over the globe now reaching 63 countries, the headquarters of the design empire sits in the heart of the Italian Design District, Brianza, which has helped to shape the country’s credit to luxurious product designs ‘Made in Italy’. We visited the showroom and factory to take a further look into their collections, craftsmanship and their dedicated focus on vision with a lifestyle philosophy.
Spazio Minotti takes hold of a 1000sq.m floor as part of an industrial redevelopment to house exclusive and iconic collections as a permanent expression of the brand’s identity. Designed by Milan based architects, Studio Dordoni Architetti, the concept was inspired by the project of a contemporary villa where all the rooms worked seamlessly with the terraces and gardens and important architectural details play a role.
Entering the showroom is a journey that invites you into a domestic landscape of room sets, showcasing iconic timeless pieces that perfectly complement new collections, the essence of the Minotti lifestyle. Everything that features has been carefully considered and locally sourced with a play on innovation and a mixture of materials and finishes. Luxury finishing touches set the scene such as the black wall to floor glass mirror panels are juxtaposed with warm ceiling wood panels, concrete walls and textured Piasentina stone floor tiles. Sophisticated lighting designs by FLOS enhance the settings and divisions of room sets.
The showroom illustrates how timeless the collections are and how they can easily be combined with new collections in a beautiful sequence of shades and materials. The Italian company achieves creating living compositions with signature Minotti finishing touches and arrangements that allow for multi-generational living in one space.
